NWHO Distributes Food items and Relief Goods in Akora Refugees Camp, 25 November 2007 (Pakistan). .
The NWHO, on 25 November 2007 arranged distribution of food items and other relief goods for the deserving families at Akora Khattak afghan camp (Pakistan).
The winter relief project has been planned to help vulnerable children and their families in Akora Khattak Afghan Refugees Camp to survive the winter as well as to provide most needed supplementary food items. Due to lack of proper food, environment and health facilities, majority of afghan refugees are facing several diseases. Since beginning of previous July 09 children have lost their lives due to cholera and other diseases. While a large number of people, mostly women and children are facing skin diseases.
NWHO has helped ease the suffering of these people in Akora Khattak Afghan Refugees Camp. New World Hope Organization gave a quick response and distributed food items. The project focused on distribution of rice, chickpeas, edible oil and sugar in order to provide staple food like rice, sugar and edible oil. The food items are considered to be supplementary food supply for a starving population and targeting 534 street children and their families. The project distributed 1000 kg of rice, 500 Litre edible oil, 1500 kg sugar.
NOTE: This distribution was for the poor and needy people of Afghan Refugees who have been suffering from disaster (war) and natural disaster (drought) for 25 years. But in these days the people of Afghan Refugees are also suffering from the high prices of food and non food items and high rate of houses rents.
