Over 1.2 Million people are being displaced due to unstable situation in Sawat, Malakand, Dir Lower and Buner. Migration of the panicked people has resulted emergency situation in the neighboring district Swabi, Mardan and Dir Upper as well.

Intensified fighting has now raised the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province to 1.9 million, making this the largest IDP crisis in over 15 years.

New World Hope Organization has launched an emergency relief campaign to provide basic supplies to those in need of assistance. These supplies include; cooked food, ambulances and medication.

The unfortunate victims of the ongoing operation in the swat valley are the innocent civilians who have evacuated their homes in fear for their lives. Most of them are being currently housed in various temporary relief camps across the region.
