10 September 2011 – Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh is facing disaster once more with heavy rains over the past ten days and there is fear that it might be worse than last year’s historic rains, According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan 984,333 houses have been damaged and 199  people have died so far in 22 districts of Sindh. Total of 1,595,052 crops area have been affected. 222,941 people are currently in relied camps.

RESPONSE PLAN BY NWHO-The New World Hope Organization, one of the leading Humanitarian Organization mobilized their staffs and volunteers for in-depth assessment of the most affected Districts to direct the prioritization process and target assistance to the most vulnerable areas. The rapid assessment indicated that immediate humanitarian support is required for:

  1. Food Security, Agriculture and Livelihoods
  2. Health & Nutrition
  3. WASH
  4. Shelter & NFI’s
  5. Education

In response to the flood 2011, New World Hope Organization ( NWHO) has distributed 1,000 food and hygiene kits and portable drinking water and Family Ration Packs as well as water purifier tablets are also being distributed to most vulnerable flood-affected families in Badin and Mirpurkhas districts in Sindh province. School Earthquake Safety and Preparedness Training Program

The School Earthquake Safety and Preparedness Training project was started in 2009 with a purpose to promote a culture of earthequke safety in the schools of Pakistan. The aim of School Earthquake Safety and Preparedness Training project is to establish in 20 schools in 04 selected districts (05 schools per district) in one year. More

Million Tree Campaign in Pakistan

In 2008, Chairman NWHO Muhammad Ajmal Khan inaugurated the Spring Tree Planting Campaign 2008 by planting 200,000 saplings and the NWHO also gave 50000 plants to schools and citizens of Nowshera to plant trees in their yards. More

Free Health Care Facility For The Poor- NWHO established the New World Hope Alshifa Clinic & Maternity Home in 2008, NWHO successfully operates healthcare clinic in Rawalpindi. which provide free medical services to the poor families in surrounding areas and afgan refugees located between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. More
   

The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on, 31 March 2008 in honour of those students who had earned top positions .

Prizes were given to the students right from LKG to 12th std. on the occasion, NWHO gave away the prizes to the top position holder students as well as NWHO also announced to give books, fee and any other sort of assistance to the needy and poor students during session 2008-09 and in future also, who could not afford fee, uniforms and books. More

   

Training Workshop on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction

The Training workshop on Climate change and disaster risk reduction was held in Jhelum, Pakistan, on 5 November 2009, and Organized by New World Hope Organization.The workshop was attended by about 35 participants. More

NWHO is Officially Accredited by the UN General Assembly
We are pleased to announce that NWHO is now an officially accredited NGO, as per the UN General Assembly's decision (A/66/L/44) that has given accreditation to some 800 organisations to attend the RIO+20 conference. (May 2012)
