Due to Pakistan Floods 2010, 20 million people are affected, 14 million are in need of emergency health care, 6 million are in need of food and 3.5 million children vulnerable to water borne diseases.

Heavy rains starting from 21 July 2010 have triggered both flash floods and river floods in almost all Pakistan. This is one of the biggest floods in the history of Pakistan. As rivers burst their banks, vast areas have been inundated and hundreds of thousands of people have been left injured and homeless. Its has not only affected the poor and the unprivileged but also the upper and lower middle class families. The floods have been caused by heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan, resulting in the destruction of homes, roads, bridges, crops and livestock. Flash floods in KPK has caused destruction at large scale and displaced millions of people. In KPK, The most affected districts are Nowshehra and Charsadda because of heavy flood in river Kabul and swat, where many villages have swept away.

In response to the Pakistan Floods 2010, with the support of Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA), New World Hope Organization (NWHO) has distributed a total of 7,000 Meal ready to eat (MRE) packets to the most needed flood affected people for their lunch and dinner for two weeks in Nowshera and Charsadda Districts. These cooked food packets were distributed to a total of 3500 families. SVA and NWHO started Cooked Food Distribution Program on Sep 24, 2010.
